Carols Round the Tree – 10th Dec. 2015.

A bumper crowd turned up on a cold but dry night, to sing carols around the village Christmas Tree in front of St. Bart’s Church. We were joined as usual by the Co-op Funeralcare Northwest Brass Band and they performed admirably as they ran through five carols outside, before everyone went into church for mulled wine and mince pies. After such refreshment it was only right that five more carols were sung inside, before top ups and a humorous reading from John Headon about Nativity plays. A final five carols completed the evening, with our vicar, the Rev. Anne thanking everyone for coming, the helpers and the band. The event is provided by St. Bart’s to say thank you for all those who have helped and supported the church throughout 2015. We should also thank “Dave Hughes at The Badger” for generously providing the tree.
